The 2027 season of Snow Marathon League begins in Gulmarg, the legendary winter hub of Kashmir and one of the Himalayas’ and the planet's most spectacular snow destinations. Here, beneath the towering peaks and across a landscape transformed into a vast winter wonderland, the Snow Marathon experience welcomes you to run in snowed Kashmir.
Run through pristine snow, breathe in the crisp mountain air and experience Kashmir in a way few ever do. From the snowbound trails around Gulmarg to the magnificent Himalayan vistas stretching beyond, every kilometre promises a rare encounter with nature at its most dramatic best.
And besides the run, Gulmarg awaits with its unmistakable mountain charm, adventure, culture and warmth. This is not simply the first race of the League, but it is your invitation to discover Kashmir in winter, as part of Snow Marathon, at the epicenter of the Himalayas.
Snow Marathon Lahaul 2026 is open for all age groups and gender. You can choose your running category on the basis of your experience, proficiency and running goals.

The 4th Edition of Snow Marathon Lahaul unfolded amidst dramatic weather challenges as the Trans-Himalayan region was blanketed in unseasonal, heavy snowfall since late February. An active low-pressure system over the North-Western Himalayas triggered this relentless snow, leading to road closures and logistical uncertainties. However, undeterred by nature’s trials, the spirit of adventure prevailed.

Kieren D'souza is a star runner and endurance athlete that India is proud of having. He has several firsts to his credit, including being the first Indian to qualify for and finish the 246 km Greece Spartathlon. A full time Ultra and Trail Runner since 2015, Kieren has been chasing dreams all over the Indian Himalayas and has combined mountaineering with climbing and has established several Fastest Known Times, running up and down peaks in matter of hours, which seasoned climbers do over days!

Snow Marathon Lahaul is being organised by Reach India through its team of highly seasoned experts from the world of mountain adventure sports. Together the team has successfully organised a number of expeditions, adventure events and outdoor sporting activities in the Himalayas over the years.
