4th Edition
When the snowstorm finally subsided on March 15th, Lahaul transformed into a mesmerizing white wonderland. Navigating through knee-deep snow remained a challenge, but with the unwavering support of the BRO, the roads were promptly cleared, and the race route were recced afresh. Following a final ground assessment, our team gave the green light for participants to proceed, setting the stage for an extraordinary experience.
from ITBP (the first paramilitary participation), and 5 from SSB. Adding to the spirit of inclusion, the event welcomed participants across age groups, including the remarkable 62-year-old Siva from Chennai and the spirited 68-year-old Naresh in the 5K run. The youngest contender, 7-year-old Sanika, a local Lahauli girl, joined the Joy Run, proudly accompanied by her father.
With Mother Nature finally offering her blessing, Race Day commenced under pristine skies. Starting at 4:00 AM, the Marathon was flagged off at 6:00 AM, followed by the Half Marathon at 6:30 AM, the 10K at 8:00 AM, the 5K at 10:00 AM, and the Joy Run at 10:30 AM. The snow-covered trails presented a grueling yet exhilarating challenge, demanding both physical stamina and mental resilience.
The Ladakh Scouts stole the spotlight with their commanding presence, while an exceptional ultra-runner from the Indian Air Force emerged victorious in the Full Marathon. In the women’s category, the unstoppable Tenzin Dolma, our Brand Ambassador, for the fourth consecutive year, clinched her well-deserved victory once again. The air was filled with jubilant cheers from the locals, supportive family members, and enthusiastic spectators, creating a truly electrifying atmosphere. The Awards Ceremony was presided over by Shri Rahul Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Lahaul & Spiti.
